A Fine Dime 03:05
I’m experiencing a wall of death a breakdown of the things that might kill me I’d like to remember my youth more than I do the building blocks with a golden hue make love with memories masked and wrinkled, recorded on tape. age gnaws at life non-rhythmically as its put in check like the plastic strings guitar still so untuned I knew it would stick reaching out, reaching out the first show was a hell of a drug something so strong that the ground will pull out from the strongest of men wash my hands, withdraw within the speakers pushing air reminds me that this isn’t over yet we do what we do cause we do it and thats why we do it making music no one hears yeah music no one hears music no one hears.

House Fire 02:33
It wasn’t a decision to be uncomfortable I shot too high I crashed too hard This unwashed hair these tired shoes Oh what a bang up job I walk slowly down the street glad that I’m strong enough to stay honest while my stomach burns like my home up in flames yeah it true that spring brings new I became the hot spot on my block oh what searing pain You can see it in my eyes structure, safety, and routine fell to the sidewalk transformed to fear, to doubt, to burning fear, doubt, and burning pain fear and doubt and burning pain disaster renders reality discovering humanity fear of the unknown in its purest form a burning blessing in disguise taught me how to live my life.

Breathing has thickened when it once was clenched cause a stiffness in my neck that makes me sick time’s one of those things just a matter of it’s noiseless foot will bring me in whoa will bring me in well the fire in our bellies only half to blame for breaking down our compass impending shame I said I’ve learned my lesson but Ive lied before I’ve lied before Well the mornings finally here showing anything but peace I’ll talk this story with me and you take that story with you take that story with you well the road was hit I got out of town a smack a grief will resonate for always with this song along side this song
4.
This is the work of recreation built up in a time where repetition breeds the same old thing that I’ve heard before just a different package and a different bow Ive come to terms that I’m just a speck of dust with the smallest impact on a few of us staring at the pond twenty-six miles south of town the wind pushes round our bodies no concern she speaks of death I am the work of recreation an imitation of something unoriginal and bland on the very night the locust grind about of course I feel lucky so does that maple next to me staring at the pond twenty-six miles south of town the wind pushes round our bodies no concern she speaks of death of course I feel lucky so does that maple next to me

Off we go again to pack up our lives in a halfway sound unbroken home, our home something about a hardwood floor to warm through the night and the new faces in smoke filled room offering their lives we don’t expect a thing and always get more show me the floor like the time in shitty Florida fighting waves with what I got the 40s prepare you to rest on those rocks I got the worst sleep on my best night so I take a chance and offer my life I can grow old like this I can grow old like this, like this, like this something about a hardwood floor to warm through the night and the new faces in smoke filled room offering their lives we don’t expect a thing and always get more show me the floor

Don’t be straining at your leash to show how alive you are I think you have it in ya to live the live you love if money didn’t matter what would you choose to do live isn’t retrospective, lets not be too. middle of the summer bank accounts swell routines filled up and hobbies fell through cutting through the ties that hold you back thats the easiest part of that if money didn’t matter what would you choose to do take a deep breath and figure it out. she said she was comfortable as she fell into the trap designed to enslave all of us all of us and keep you happy at that you think your special well I’m a liar too. prepare to be let down you think you’ve found the truth well, there is no hope for you there is no hope for you my dear there is no hope for you there is no hope for you my dear there is no hope for you there is no hope for you my dear.

about

Buttonhoof Bloomington, Indiana

Buttonhoof are an eclectic and intensely full three piece hailing from the honest flats of Southern Indiana where they stray only a few feet from their punk rock roots. Soulful lyrics accommodated by a never modest bass section that can only be matched by the syncopated magician we call a drummer. Buttonhoof, its whats for dinner! Wait... maybe I'm thinking of beef. ... more
